The End

Sadly, this is going to be my last blog post. I have spent most of the school year writing these blogs and at some points I liked them and at others, I didn’t. I would say that it was a fun experience for me to write about a show I have loved for so long. I hope I was able to convince you to watch Supernatural or even helped remember stuff from earlier in the show as it did for me. There was a lot of stuff I had to keep out of the blogs because if I had explained every hunt they had I would honestly be only on episode 10. I picked to only include the really important things since only then I’d be able to get farther into the story.

Some of the things that I did like about the blog posts was that I was starting to write again. It was something I use to do all the time in class when I was bored but I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore. Now that I’ve had the year to write, I think I’m really going to start again after school since it helps a lot with my mental health. something that I didn’t like about it was that half of the pictures that I had in my blogs I had to go home and look up the pictures on my computer since the school restricted the pictures. I also wouldn’t write fast enough in class so I would have to stay up till like 11 or 12 because I had work and still needed to finish my blog post. Overall though it was a pretty fun thing to do, it gave me a break from all the homework.

I will continue to watch Supernatural on and off like I always have. I just think it’s that good. I am going to miss talking about the things that the brothers do because later on they do some really amazing things. Things they do get so good that it’s so easy to forget how they started and remember that half the things seen in the show, hadn’t ever been seen to that extreme at any time before them. So what they are going through is really the first for everyone.

Thank you so much for reading my blogs and giving them a shot. I hope you have at least considered Supernatural, it is so good. For the final time, goodbye.

Supernatural season 3 part 1

For a quick recap of the last season, Sam, Dean, Bobby, and Ellen figure out Azazel’s plan to open a hell’s (devil’s) gate that will allow all the demons to come and go out of hell as they want. Sam and Dean try to stop Jake from opening the door but have to kill him. Jake was able to open the gate with the Colt. Demons come running out and Dean grabs the Colt knowing Azazel will be near soon. The demons knock the gun out of his hands and Azazel grabs it. then John’s spirit grabs Azazel making him drop the gun, allowing Dean to grab the colt and finally kill Azazel. Bobby and Ellen finally manage to shut the gates stopping the demons from escaping.

The season starts out with the brothers and bobby looking for a job. Bobby tells the brothers that he found something in Nebraska that turns out to be demonic. Each of the demons is a manifestation of the Seven Deadly Sins. around the end of the hunt, some of the sins track down the brothers and bobby, but during their fight with the sins a mysterious blonde named Ruby saves Sam and kills 3 of the demons before disappearing. The rest of the demons are exorcised.

After a few hunts, They find a case of a vengeful spirit of a young girl whose attacks resemble fairy tales. We find out that she had been in a coma for years but her father, who is the doctor, has been reading fairy tales to her whenever he has time. It is believed that she was poisoned by her stepmom just like Snow White and that is why she is bringing fairy tales to life. As they are talking about this, a bruised old woman is brought into the hospital and says her granddaughter has been kidnapped as in Little Red Riding Hood. The doctor is in complete disbelief and doesn’t want to let his daughter go. Eventually, they get the doctor to let her go, freeing her and letting her move on to the afterlife. Later that night, Sam visits the Crossroads Demon. She refuses to reveal the name of the demon who can free Dean from his pact and Sam kills her.

This first part of the season was just amazing to watch. I can still go back and watch it and get worried that they won’t make it out. The way the episodes are set up, it can fill you with the same emotions every time watch them. I never miss the determination of the brothers to either get the job done or to save each other. We will see Sam trying to save Dean more, but you’ll have to wait till the next post.

my thoughts on season 2

For a quick recap of the last blog post, Sam, Dean, Bobby, and Ellen figure out Azazel’s plan to open a hell’s (devil’s) gate that will allow all the demons to come and go out of hell as they please.

For me, this season was a real eye-opener for what the seasons were gonna be like. I knew things were going to get intense more and more as things go on. I was mostly glad that they were finally able to see their dad again even if the way they met was sad and wasn’t anything special. I could feel the pain they had after he died. I do think that the brothers should start to stop people even if it means killing them sooner than they need to because if they had killed Jake sooner then none of this would have happened. I do understand it though because it’s supposed to be the people vs the monsters and they really want to save any humans that they can but sometimes it has to come at a cost.

I love how they have included the cult so much, When I was watching it for the first time I was thinking that they were overusing the whole concept of it way to much, but as I’ve watched the whole thing I have missed it so much and how useful the gun could have been. That’s also the situation with most of the things that go on. later in the story, you’ll realize how much you stuff you want to happen again from the first seasons.

This season was really good. I really enjoyed how they brought things full circle in this series so far. This is my favorite season out of the first 5 others. They’ve set up the entire trauma that has been the entire motivating factor in their lives. They keep hunting because it’s what their father would want, to help people. these few seasons are the building blocks for their standards and values, and just everything in their lives.

Next blog I will start to go over season 3. I think it will definitely be more for the people who like ghosts and demons. If I’m remembering correctly, they are starting on the middle ground because they got to see their dad but then they also released thousands of not millions of demons.

Part 2 of Season 2

In the last blog post, we went over what happened after the crash and how the brothers met Ash, Jo, and Ellen. They also met Gordon Walker who determines his life to kill the brothers. The brothers are also having a hard time getting over their father’s death.

During a hunt, they find a girl who has visions just like sam who has a vision of Sam dying. Gordon learns of Azazel’s plans and tries to kill Sam. Dean got caught by Gordon, and Sam goes to save Dean, avoiding all of the explosions because Sam remembered the visions, and gets the Deans out of there. Sam gives an anonymous call to the police where Gordon gets arrested.

After a few more hunting trips, in the middle of the night, while Sam and Dean are sleeping, Azazel kidnaps Sam and all of the other people that have powers that Azazel had given to them and takes them to an abandoned town for all of them to battle, only the strongest will be able to leave. Throughout Sam’s time there he tries to save everyone but one by one they end up dying. In the end, Sam and another named Jake start to fight and Sam knocked him out. Dean and Bobby found Sam and started running to him as fast as they can; Sam was distracted by Bobby and Dean when suddenly Jake regains consciousness and fatally stabs Sam. (the picture is right under the section All Hell Breaks Loose)

Dean was so devastated that he summoned a crossroads demon to sell his soul in exchange for Sam’s life. Dean is given one year before they come to collect his soul. Dean meets up with Ellen and Bobby to look at the notes that Ash left in the Roashouses safe. They find out that Samuel Colt, the creator of The Colt, also created a giant devil’s trap using railway lines. in the center of this is an old cowboy cemetery which Azazel forces Jake to go to since he can’t. The hunters (Sam and Dean and their friends) show up and shoot him as soon as the doors to the mausoleum breaking the devils trap. They soon figure out that it was actually a devils gate. (a doorway to hell) Many demons rush out of the gate and break the railways so they cant be trapped in the devils trap just incase it is ever resealed. Ellen and Bobby try to shut the gate to their best ability while Sam and Dean take The Colt to confront Azazel. The demons overwhelm the brothers and manage to take The Colt and give it Azazel to kill Sam and Dean. All of the sudden the spirit of John Winchester grabs Azazel making him drop the gun. Dean is able to grab The Colt and kill Azazel once and for all. Bobby and Ellen close the gates and Johns spirit moves on.

After all is set and done Dean tells Sam the deal he made to keep him alive, and Sam promises to save him from the deal, and with that, marks the ending of season 2 of supernatural.

Part 1 of Season 2

To do a quick recap at the end of season 1, Sam and Dean found out Azazel was possessing their father once they saved John from being held hostage. John gained brief control over Azazel and told Sam to take the shot with the Colt and kill him. Sam couldn’t bring himself to kill his father and shot him in the leg instead. Azazel flees and Sam and Dean rush their father to the hospital. On the way there a semi-truck driver possessed by a demon crashes into them.

The Winchesters are taken to a hospital where Sam and John sustained minor injuries and Dean is in a coma. during deans coma, he has an out-of-body experience. A reaper tries to take Dean’s soul and she tells him if he doesn’t go with her then he will become a spirit like the ones they hunt. While this is happening John sneaks off to summon Azazel and offers to exchange Dean’s life for his own and the Colt. John makes peace with his sons and then dies.

For the start of the season that’s a heavy blow. I was so shocked and completely in disbelief when I saw this. They had spent all the first season to find their dad to just have him sacrifice himself to keep his son alive and continue his journey. Even I was hurt emotionally and it didn’t happen to me, I could feel the pain of their father and them when he did die.

After they cremated their father they go right back into hunting and refuse to talk about John’s death. They get the Impala repaired and track some of their father’s old messages. They meet Ellen, her daughter Jo, and Ash. They will become very important characters in the future. Throughout the rest of the season, they continue to work with Ellen Jo and Ash on and off helping with cases. They eventually talk about their father’s death and Dean explains the reason he’s been so angry and rude was that he’s upset about his father’s death. He just doesn’t know how to handle it. During the season they run into someone who will later become an enemy to them named Gordon Walker. During a vampire case, they meet Gordon who Ellen warns is dangerous. They go to kill a vampire nest where Gordon had already captured the leader. Sam has been trying to convince Dean to not go and to leave them alone, so when they find Gordon they decide to tie him up and leave him there to help the vampire.

Ellen Jo and Ash are the most basic country people you will meet. over the rest of the seasons, they’ll change a lot but they are personally my favorite characters for the first half of the series. They are really funny and I think I would get along very well with them if they were real. Most of the season they were mostly dealing with their father’s death and for someone, they spent every second of every day with, and him leaving to just come back and die, I think they are doing their best to deal with his death and the best they can do is just work till they can’t anymore. Gordon is a very strange character. He’s definitely not right mentally and he just gives off a creepy vibe and just doesn’t feel right.

My Thoughts on Season One

For the last few blogs, I have explained the majority of season one of Supernatural, and even the history of the main characters. The last thing to happen in the season is John, Sam, and Dean are on their way to the hospital when a semi-truck driver, who was possessed by a demon, wrecked right into them.

I think that this season was a really great first season overall with how they all introduced everything. When I was first starting to watch it, I was very curious about what happened more in their childhood so for everyone who is reading this I already explained most of it. This was a very simple season of introducing everyone and all of the monsters and how to kill them. I love how they use the internet to do their research on how to kill demons or skinwalkers even. The show can be a little repetitive but it kept grabbing my attention after each episode for the main reason of I wanted to see what happened to their father. After watching the show 3 times over it still grabs my attention because it has such a unique way of attracting you. I would have to say out of all of the episodes the last one has to be my favorite. Since I have watched it so much I like the last episode the most because it shows that after all they have been through things will never give them a break. They can keep trying and trying but all they can do is keep pushing on. The last episode really shows that this is always going to be the case for all the seasons to come.

I do have some things in this season I don’t fully like or care for but, those are in every season. I think the parts that I don’t like about it still have an important part of the story. This season also involves the most important things in the story that they’ll use for the rest of their lives. The colt, devils trap, Bobby, and other things. The story introduces the important things early, but it also doesnt introduce everything to keep most of it interesting and not overwhelming. Even though they do all of these things and no matter how injured they are, they seem to never catch a break and will still always be attacked. For the first season with all the stuff they had to introduce and everything that they had to execute I think this is one of the best series’s I have seen that was able to keep all of my attention and still explain everything going on without getting overwhelming.

In the next blog post I’ll be talking about season 2. I personally, am really excited to talk about it since right into the first episode it hits with equal energy of the last episode. There is a lot to expect in the next season. I hope it’ll be as enjoyable for you guys as it is for me, since im looking forward to it.

Continuation of Season One

Trigger warning: graphic, death

With the last few episodes of season one, we get a lot more information on where their father is and who took him. At this time, all they know about who took him is his name, Meg, a popular demon who works for “Yellow Eyes”, aka Azazel. He was the one who killed Sam and Dean’s mom and Sam’s girlfriend. They do not know a whole lot about Azazel or how strong he is. Sam and Dean while on a hunt, find a vampire who has an old model colt pistol. He tries to shoot it but is killed before he is able to. Another vampire takes the pistol that was left behind and gives it to their leader, Luther.

After Sam and Dean killed the vampire previously, they went back to the motel they had been staying at and discovered their father. After a happy and confusing reunion, their father hands them a letter that he had got from their mail. The letter said that the gun that they had left behind, the old colt pistol, was actually a gun capable of killing anything.

In response to this information, the now together family capture a girl named Kate to exchange for the gun that Luther has. John makes the trade, while Sam and Dean rescue the vampire victims, under orders to leave after they are done. During the negotiation, Luther attacks John, as he does not want to give up the gun. The Winchester Brothers attack Luther and the other vampires, killing most of them but saving Luther. After John retrieves the gun, he shoots Luther, only to prove that the gun does kill anything it touches. Their father then decides that they are stronger together, and invites them in the hunt to find Azazel.

After this event, Meg begins to target the families’ friends, John shows the brothers his research on Azazel. All of the notes that he had gathered showed that he may be in Salvation, Iowa. Before they could pack up and leave for the city, they get a call from Meg. Meg demands that they hand over the gun or she will kill more of their friends. John leaves the brothers to deliver a fake gun, telling them to go on without him. While this is happening, Sam and Dean leave their father to go to Iowa, find Azazel and attempt to kill him; Azazel manages to escape as Sam closes in.

The brothers call their father to report their failure and are in shock when Meg answers the phone and says that their father had been captured. The brothers go to an old family friend, named Bobby Singer, for help in getting their father back. Bobby and the brother do research on anything they can use to trap or interrogate the demon when they come across a mystical symbol known as a “devil trap.” Meg tracks them down to get The Colt out of their possession. They trap Meg under the devil’s trap, making her powerless and immobilized. The brothers do an exorcise on the Meg even though they would be killing the real Meg in the process because of the injuries she has sustained. The real Meg, before she dies, offers clues to where John’s whereabouts are.

The brothers go to Jefferson City, Missouri, to rescue John. When they get John to a safe spot, Azazel reveals himself to be possessing John. They start fighting, Azazel being much stronger than the boys, thus he is easily able to torture Dean. For a little bit, John is able to fight off the possession and begs Sam to kill him with the colt while they are able to. Sam couldn’t bring himself to kill his father, but instead he shoots his father in the leg hoping that would be enough. Azazel flees leaving the Winchesters with no progress in killing him. Sam and Dean rush John to the hospital, on their way there when the driver of a large semi-truck, possessed by a demon, crashes into them.

Next blog I will be getting into more of what I think about this season overall. I thought it would be a good refresher or explanation of the first season for the people who have already seen the show or people who want to know more about it without actually watching it.

Season One

After 2 years of Sam being gone to attend college at Standford, Dean meets his brother for the first time in those years to ask for help. At this time Dean is 26 years old and Sam is about 24 years old. Not much is told within the first episodes but we do find out that their father went on a hunting trip 3 weeks ago and hasn’t been in contact since.

In the first episode, we learn that Sam left the family 2 years ago to go to Standford for law schooling. The episode starts out with Sam and his girlfriend Jess going to a Halloween party that’s on campus. Later that night Dean breaks into Sam and Jess’s dorm room while their sleeping. Dean makes some small ruckus that ends up waking Sam. Sam sneaks into the living room without Dean noticing and jumps him from behind. After Dean pins him on the ground he reassures Sam that everything is ok and he just needs help. Jess wakes up from all the noises and comes in asking Sam if everything is okay. Sam introduces them and this is where we find out why Dean is here. Their dad has been gone for 3 weeks on a hunting trip. Sam convinces Jess that everything will be okay and that he just needs to drag his dad back home. Sam and Dean then hit the road to their dad’s last location. He ended up calling Dean telling him everything is not okay and he needs help before Sam agreed to help. Throughout most of this season, its main purpose is to get the watchers an idea of what they do and how they do it. Fake FBI badges and so on. After Sam and Dean go to their dad’s last location and finish the hunt they get their dad’s notebook that he never leaves without. They decide since they can’t find their dad they should just keep going how they were before till they figure anything out to find him.

When Sam arrives home Jess is in the shower and she tells him to wait just a minute and she’ll be out. Sam sets his stuff on the floor and plops down on the bed eyes closed just enjoying being back home; suddenly Sam feels something dripping on his head, when he opens his eyes he sees Jess on the ceiling, just like his mom she had blood coming from her stomach and she bursts into flames. It cuts to Sam standing outside with Dean with an urge to get vengeance. Sam and Dean set off together to help others and find their dad. Most of the episodes are getting Sam back into hunting after 2 years of not doing it. Turns out that their father messages them coordinates to give them cases to work and have them kinda follow behind him so they don’t really lose him. Eventually, they get leads on where he is and they finally find him, but his dad told them to let him keep going because he is very close to finding the demon that killed his wife and Sam’s girlfriend.

To do a little recap so far, Sam ran off to Standford for 2 years after his father told him that if he’s gonna leave then he can stay gone. Dean comes back to ask for help since their dad has been gone on a hunting trip for 3 weeks and hasn’t called or texted. Sam and Dean go out to the last location their dad was, finished the case, found his journal about all of the monsters he has hunted that he never leaves without. Sam goes back to college to find that what happened to his mom happened to Jess, his girlfriend. Sam, wanting vengeance, goes with Dean to find their father and help hunt the demon that did this to their family.

The History of the Main Characters

trigger warning: Gore guns

The main characters have had a very troubled past. Their dad’s name is john Winchester, mom’s name is mary Winchester, the older brother’s name is dean Winchester, and the youngest brother’s name is Sam Winchester. The very first scene of the tv show shows how their mother dies and how old the family is. We don’t know how old their mom and dad are, but Dean is 2 years old and Sam is 6 months old. it cuts into the late night of the family. John is downstairs sleeping on the couch, Mary is in their bed, Sam is in his room and Dean is in his room all sleeping. Mary wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to check on Sam while he is asleep and then sees a man that she mistakes as John and thinks everything is fine. She heads downstairs to get a drink; suddenly she sees John on the couch sleeping. She runs upstairs and screams; suddenly, the camera cuts to John waking up and running upstairs into Sam’s room. He started to look at Sam when he sees blood dropping onto the pillow right next to Sam. John looks up to see Mary, stuck to the ceiling blood coming from her stomach area. John screams “Mary,” when suddenly flames engulf her and kill her. Dean runs into the room when all of a sudden John Throws Sam into Dean’s hands and Yells “RUN!”
